Underground Installations
Where there is an uninterrupted stretch of land mass, cables / fibre and pipeline are laid underground to prevent damages caused by external factors. Each project of installation goes through several stages before reaching completion. There are six major stages: design, installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and restoration.
Different services covered in our scope involve underground installation at different stages. We conduct underground installation of Industrial pipes for Gas Distribution Network, FibreOptic Cable laying for Telecom, Low Tension and High Tension electrical cable laying for services provided to the Power sector, etc.
Rudra Gas Enterprise through its technical knowledge, skills and manpower is reliable in executing such works. We are capable of assisting clients for all kinds of installations.. Underground installation is done by TWO different methods. The selection of method depends on the size of the project, location, feasibility of operation, cost and risk involved etc.All underground installation involves availability of obstruction free range, that is free from sharp undulations and bends; protection from rock and irregular materials and corrosive soils. Pipe / cable are inspected for quantity and damage free quality, ends are sealed, and material is placed in specified location and supported in pre-laying position as per standard
Horizontal Directional Drilling
Horizontal directional drilling or HDD, is a steerable trenchless method of installing underground pipes, conduits and cables in a shallow arc along a prescribed bore path by using a surface-launched drilling rig, with minimal impact on the surrounding area.
This is done for seamless installation of pipeline into Gas Network Distribution. We possess the ability and required resources and knowledge to carry out such operations at critical locations. Our team of professionals is trained to handle all types of soil pressure in any terrain. The past projects of the company include completion of HDD for river, railway, canal, national highways etc.
We maintain the highest safety standards and provide trainings at site for supervisors and ground staff. We are resourced with all technical equipment and drilling machinery and follow necessary compliances to complete projects of any size within agreed time.
Open Trenching
Open trench excavation is the traditional and most common method of pipeline laying, repair or replacement. Open trench excavation consists of excavating down to the point where the pipeline is to be laid and / or exposing the existing pipe so that it can be repaired or replaced, then backfilling the trench.
The procedure of open trenching is conducted manually by deploying laborers at site. This procedure is carried out at critical locations or high utility region where it is otherwise impossible to lay pipeline.
The work includes some or all of these steps depending on the type of project:
- Materials delivered and stored in the right of way
- Pavement cut to trench width
- Trenches dug to the curb to install laterals
- Pipe installed in trench
- Trench backfilled with sand or gravel and compacted
- Temporary pavement installed as work progresses forward
- Curb and sidewalk repaired or replaced if necessary or specified in plans
- Trenches permanently paved when there is enough distance
- Streets cleaned, and other remaining restoration completed as paving is finished
